Originally built as "The Great Experiment" for transwarp trials. Under Captain Hikaru Sulu, completed historic 3-year gaseous anomaly mapping missions in the Beta Quadrant and played the decisive role rescuing Kirk and McCoy at the Khitomer Peace Conference (2293).
